Posters for missing dogs and cats always bum me out--I can't imagine the distress of the pet owners not knowing how their animal is faring--but I always stop to study the photo and phone number in case I run across the missing critter.
So, imagine my delight when I ran across a poster for a missing cat named Moose that had been amended in red ink to let readers know that the kitty had been found!
I'd seen the flyer previously, made mental notes of Moose's distinguishing characteristics, then went on my way. Seeing a week later that this missing kitty, who lives in a traffic-heavy part of the city, was home safe and sound was a real joy.
And how thoughtful of Moose's mom or dad to update the posters they'd tacked up around town with news of the pet's return. It isn't often that you get confirmation that there is a happy ending.
Seeing this poster made me so happy that I had to share it with the Modest Needs community. Here's hoping it brightens your Monday, too.
P.S. If animals tug at your heart strings, here is a really great resource for selecting a charity for animals that is right for you.
