The Applicant of the Day is a loving mother of two school-aged children who has been a victim of unemployment. In efforts to take care of her family, she took the initiative to create income by starting her own business, which has left things extremely tight financially.
She writes, "Recently, I took both of my children for eye exams. My son could not see objects that were in plain sight; and sometimes would not pay attention in class. My daughter would not complete classwork because she was too embarrassed to admit that she could not see...It pains me that I cannot afford to help my children see better. My children deserve to have every opportunity available to be successful at school; even if I cannot provide it. It is with great humility that I ask for assistance."
This applicant needs just 352 points to get her children the glasses they need to see.
