Her husband has a seizure disorder due to a head-on collision with a drunk driver. He became permanently disabled, resulting in limited income. She writes:
We have appliances that have over the years been worn out and repaired over and over. They are rusted and unsteady. We have gone through 3 used refrigerators and have lost countless amounts of food to unsafe temperatures, etc., and have been on occasion ill because of this. I have diabetes and need to have controlled temperatures for my insulin. Three of us have no health insurance and must buy medication with cash.
[W]e must have a refrigerator. We live in a mobile home and do not wish for or need extravagance. We need safe and reliable. A new fridge would enable us to live a safe and clean life and would greatly ease our financial burden.
