Today's Application of the Day comes from a grandmother helping to raise her two grandchildren. Derailed by a sudden loss of income due to cut hours at work and unexpected car repairs, she and her family are in danger of losing their home. Here's her story in her own words:
I am a 59 year old female. I live with my 29 year old daughter and two 9 year old granddaughters. I have never been in a situation of asking for help before. I have heart problems and this stress is not good on me.
I need help paying my rent for November. I do not have the the money to pay this, due to cuts in my hours at work, car repairs on my car and car payments. I need this help to prevent me and my daughter and granddaughters from being evicted.
I don't want to lose my job because i don't have anywhere to live. And I'm afraid of my grandchildren being homeless and out in the cold. If I lose my job, I couldn't make a car payment, then I lose the car and have a repossession on me.
Not being able to pay my rent is very stressful for me. I get upset and cry a lot. I get depressed. I can't sleep at night. I worry about my granddaughters' health and welfare.
Funding would help so I could pay my rent and have my bills paid. I believe that all things are possobile with God. If other people would help me, I know it would be a blessing from God and his people. I would be humble and very grateful to know people that do not know me would help me. Thank you and God bless.
